This photo was taken by me at San Francisco at a beach called Point Reyes. I really loved this picture because you can see the sand is separating two very different surfaces and it stretches out for about 15 miles. The second picture is also one of my favorites because in the background you can see the sun rays piercing through the clouds and it gives a beautiful accompaniment . to the huge waves. These angles show what the size of waves were really like versus what they were perceived as. It also seems brighter in the first picture but the second picture show the huge mass of the clouds and how there is some light on the other side.
Black Age
Artist StatementThe pictures above are of Hunt Park and I chose to take them there because of the trees around the exterior with a large dip in the middle. I was trying to capture the large amounts of snow that day and how it fit well with the trees around. Hunt Park was always one of the best places to go sledding and it was a pretty big part of my childhood. I also really like the differences between the normal image and the filtered one because the filtered showed the snow having darker shades farther away and the sky was completely white.

Dry Brush
Artist StatementThese two pictures were taken early in the morning while I was taking my dog for a walk. I thought it would be really nice to show a completely black background behind the bare trees. It was also cool how footprints were around to symbolize previous people walking on the same path. Dry brush was really effective at having the untouched snow a little darker than he snow which had been stepped on.

Above are two pictures that were taken just out of my neighborhood. These were my second favorite pair since the picture really showed snow coming down and it was a nice touch with the brown branches. I felt I should take a picture of these woods because I see it almost every ingle day when going home and it is really beautiful every season especially in the summer. I was also amazed how smudge stick did a great job at smoothing out the image and making it look animated. The stream in the second picture was also a really nice touch since it looked completely black against the white snow.

These pictures were taken in my backyard and they were mainly done to show the line of trees running down to the woods. They are always the same year round and are like a fence between the two sides of houses in our neighborhood. The filter made the second picture look straight out of a comic book and I loved that about it. I also showed the trees sheltering the one house in the way to give it that fence look.
